Ok! Blue Jays! Lets!... Play!...Ball!

Kevin Bennet, "star" of the Kentville Rec Report heard on the Early Show Wednesday mornings, enjoying his "man-sized" single-single.

Magic 94.9's Jerry Neville having his picture taken with Duane Ward...at least a reasonably-drawn facimile of Duane Ward...

I used to love singing that song during that 7th inning stretch of the Toronto Blue Jays games at Exhibition Stadium and the SkyDome a.k.a. Rogers Centre, when I was a kid growing up in Toronto. The Jays were always heros to little kids in the city, so as a big kid now, it was still a thrill to see some former Blue Jays All-Stars in town for Duane Ward's Canadian Baseball Camp!
They had a blast here in the Valley, and are now moving on to Yarmouth. It was great just to catch a glimpse of the guys, I can only imagine how much fun the kids in the camp had...what an opportunity. They'd be too young to remember Kelly Gruber, LLoyd Moseby and Duane Ward from their playing days, but I'm sure they did a lot of "Googling" when they got home to see how great these guys were.

Atlantic Nationals

What a great weekend for car enthusiasts! The Magic 94.9 Misfits were on hand for the Cruise-in at the Valley Drive-in in Cambridge, where some pretty cool rides got a chance to win some pretty cool prizes. There was a big classic car show on P.E.I...Plus...

I had the chance of joining Bill and Dale from Bridgestone (who were in New Minas a couple of weeks back with their race cars, blog entry below ), and took part in the 10th Annual Atlantic Nationals Automotive Extravaganza in Moncton. What a show! If you are a car nut, and have never been, plan to take it in next year...it is an amazing show. If you watch speed, you'd recognize their special guests, Hot-Rodder Gene Winfield, Stacey David host of Gearz, and Courtney Hansen, you'd regognize as host of the Engine Block and Overhaulin' were all in attendance.

I can't even begin to describe how cool all the cars were...so I'll let the pictures do the talking...
