400 Innings...1000 Runs and Counting...

Justin Chislett, Paul Shulba and a plethora of ball players from across the Valley and beyond are taking a swing at the Guiness Book of World Records for longest recorded softball game. Their goal is 120 hours, and if when they make it to 6:00 tomorrow evening they'll have done it!
Magic 94.9's Jerry Neville and myself paid them a visit yesterday to cheer them on.

Capping off the final weekend of the season at the Valley Drive-In

It was the final weekend of the Valley Drive-in in Cambridge this past weekend, and it was great to see many travel from as far as Yarmouth and Bridgewater to take in Toy Story 3, Step Up 3 and a few hundred calories from the canteen. Thanks to Kirk Longmire and the Coldbrook and District Lions for the best season yet...and for not hiring Magic 94.9's Mike Mitchell to operate the ticket window on a permanent basis.

Very Furry Friday Cont'd

It was especially furry on this Furry Friday at Magic 94.9 as I welcomed Carolyn from Aussie Kingdon, and "Drover", a 7 month old kangaroo! "Drover" was awesome, and part of Aussie Kingdom, a show you can see with admission to the Hants County Exhibition this weekend! Catch Carolyn and her cast of friends from Down Under with Shows at 1:00pm, 4:00pm, and 7:00pm!

Very Furry Friday!

Bell Davis from the King's Branch of the S.P.C.A. stopped by for her weekly visit this morning with Le Mew! Le Mew is a 1 year old black cat, very cute and affectionate and looking for a forever home! Call the S.P.C.A. to find out more about Le Mew at 538-9073. Email kingscountyspca@yahoo.ca, or better yet, drop by 1285 County Home Road in Waterville to see her!

Magic 94.9 was pleased to be a part of the Red Carpet Premiere of "Call Me Fitz" last night at the Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville. Jason Priestly, and the rest of the "Call Me Fitz" cast and crew were on hand to watch the first two episodes of the 13-part 1st season of the series, ran simultaneously on HBO Canada.

We were treated to refreshments from Grand Pre Winery and Propeller Breweries, and a musical treat from Matt Dusk, who recorded a few tunes for the series including the opening Theme song.

Season 2 begins shooting back in New Minas on Wednesday.

Magic 94.9 Cruiser Give Away!

Congrats to Donald A. Nelson of Windsor! We pulled out his ballot in front of Arena crowd at the Hants County Exhibition in Windsor Saturday, so he is the proud new owner of his very own Magic 94.9 Cruiser! We also gave away a ton of Tim Horton's fudge, a $94.90 gas card and a beautiful basket from Graves Juices to lucky winners in attendance!

Island Green Face-Off

Leafs fans and Habs fans battled it out at the Island Green Golf Club in North Alton for the 1st Annual Tournament for the Island Green Golf Bursary. It was set up to help children enjoy the game of golf with enough funds raised to help 5 children get outfitted with equipment. Thanks to my teammates Freddy and Bob who absolutely carried me through 18 holes :)
