What a Spooktacular night!

The weather looked like it was going to wash away any fun we could possiblly have in a corn maze last night...but the forcasted rain held off just long enough, and we were able to have a special spooky time!

More than 600 guests visited Willowbank U-Pick Farm in Port Williams and helped us raise $3000 for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Annapolis Valley.

Thanks to my fellow Misfits, members of Big Brothers and Sisters, Jay and Andrew from Willowbank, Great Valley Juices and the Port Williams Volunteer Fire Dept. for helping to make the night a great success!

Rona Cash and Carry's 40th Anniversary!

I was on location last weekend for Rona Cash&Carry's 40th Anniversary Celebrations in Kingston. It was a great day for those involved with home improvements and Rona had an amazing one-day sale on drywall. They also had a great hotdog BBQ in support of Special Olympics!

09 Hockey Axemen Home Opener

The Axemen got their 2009-10 regular season and homecoming weekend off to an exciting start, defeating the visiting StFX X-Men by a score of 4-3 in overtime.

Prior to the game, Acadia honoured their 1995-96 CIAU gold-medal winning men’s hockey squad at center ice. It was great to see most of the familiar faces and characters from yester-year, it really added to the excitement of a new season, and set the stage for an exciting O.T. thriller.

The Axemen return to action Wednesday night to take on the St. Mary's Huskies in Halifax...and you can catch the action LIVE on our sister station AVR with Len Hawley and the Kings County Honda March of Champions starting with the pre-game show at 6:40!

Magic 94.9 helps Drive Away Hunger!

Magic 94.9 and Farm Credit Canada helped "Drive Away Hunger" today, collecting THOUSANDS of pounds of food to help restock the shelves of Valley area foodbanks and by putting on a fund-raising BBQ (which as you can see, Jerry and I enjoyed) today over the lunch-hour.

Friday had to be the most fun I've had during a Magic 94.9 promotion yet! Flying around in Magic 94.9 Chopper One, was something I will never forget...all in the love of Turkeys!

I hope you had your eyes to the sky, and your ears tuned into Magic 94.9 on Friday as we had our first ever "GREAT TURKEY GIVEAWAY"...dozens of turkeys were given away from our secret location Friday at Noon, which turned out to be Meadowbrook Meat Market, just north of Berwick. It was great to see cars apon cars head toward Meadowbrook after I revealed the location live from Magic 94.9 Chopper One! I hope you were one of the lucky ones to win a free turkey! Thanks to Jim and Margie Lamb, and all the great folks at Meadowbrook for all the turkeys, and to you for getting in on the fun!

Leafs...0-3...*Gulp* Gizmo to the rescue.

Leafs drop a 2-1 decision last night to Ottawa...and dropped their energy off at the front door before they took to the ice it seemed. it's only early...it's only early. Thanks to Bev Hershman from Windsor this morning for keeping me optimistic. Bev's a fellow Leafs' fan and reminded me that it's still early...it's still early. If I keep saying that i'm supposed to feel better...so far, no dice.

I think I'll go buy the stuffed "Gizmo" at Blockbuster when I get off work. If a stuffed toy modelled after a fuzzy little character from "Gremlins" doesn't make me feel better, I don't know what will...

The Valley from Above...

We had the opportunity to visit the Greenwood Flight Centre in Waterville on the weekend, and take in some very majestic views of the Annapolis Valley and along the Fundy Shore. I'll just let the pictures do the talking...
