Mayor for a Day

Thanks to Executive Misfit Andrew Johnson's contribution to a fundraising dinner for the Glooscap Curling Club and CentreStage Theatre, I was given the opportunity to become Mayor of Kentville for a day. I had the chance to tour Kentville facilities with our "briefly displaced' Mayor David Corkum. It was a day I'll never forget, from driving the Kentville Centennial Arena's brand-new Zamboni, to Kentville Public Works' Street Sweeper with Travis, to touring the Kentville Police Station with a ride-and-drive, to traveling and exploring the nature trails on the Kentville Gator...to chairing an official town council meeting, it was more than I would have or could have expected. Thank you Mayor Corkum and T.O.K.!

Freezing cold...windy...top down? Of course!

I was on remote at Fundy Ford in Middleton for the Drive One 4UR School fundraiser in support of Middleton Regional High School, and the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, where Ford Canada was donating $20 to M.R.H.S. and $10 to breast cancer research for every test drive. I'm extremely happy to report that we had a total of 208 test drives for a total of $4160 for Middleton Regional High School and $2080 for The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Amazing support! Way to go Middleton!

We wrapped up a great week on Friday of giving away Body Break Multi-vitamin gift bags and other great prizes at Lew Murphy's Family Grill and Bar in Coldbrook. After our giveaway, we had to go in and see some friendly, familiar faces in the all new great place to eat across from Valley Volkswagen in Coldbrook! Who is Lew anyway?
