Swine Flu and 747 scares...

After being at home yesterday for "flu-like" symptoms, it was a little nerve-racking watching the news and seeing how the Swine flu had hit close to home, with 4 students confirmed with the virus at Kings Edgehill. It all reminds me of the SARS scare that hit Toronto a few years back, except this virus tends to be spreadng to greater corners of the world. It's too bad that Mexican tourism is going to take a hit...and I would think Speedy Gonzalez is going to have a tough time on the dating circuit as well. At least eating pork has nothing to do with the virus, which is a relief...because I don't know what I'd do without my Mexican tube steaks.

Just when our American friends are dealing with a brutal economy, pirates taking over freightliners and this Swine flu scare, the U.S. Government of all times, thought it would be a good idea to have a 747 painted up like Air Force One and a couple of fighter jets fly over downtown Manhatten for a few pictures...without letting the public know...causing wide-spread panic. Way to go. Apparently U.S. President Obama wasn't happy about it...either were the hundreds of businesses that evacuated their offices in preparation for the worst. Louis E. Caldera, director of the White House Military Office who allowed this to happen should have to spend the next 6 months as a tour guide at the Statue of Liberty for that gaffe.

Get out there and enjoy today's sunshine, and I'll catch you back here on Magic 94.9 tomorrow for the Early Show starting at 5:30am :)
